Gwen Jorgensen (USA) staged a remarkable comeback to make up a nearly one and a half minute deficit on the bike, to win the ITU World Triathlon Chicago 2014 Elite Women's race in a time of 1:55:33.Even more remarkable, she was in 27th place after one bike lap, without making much progress, until the run, when she just crushed the competition





Helen Jenkins (GBR) and Juri Idu (JPN) held a commanding lead on the run, but Jorgensen began to close the time gap at a rapid pace, ultimately passing the two leaders with less than half a mile to go.
