On a cloudy day with relatively comfortable temperatures around 70 degrees, the compared to 2012 results, the average swim of 1:25 was 4 minutes slower, the 6:34 bike split was 3 minutes faster, and the 5:02 run split, 5 minutes slower.
Participation at the 2013 edition of Ironman Wisconsin were remarkable similar to those in 2012, with almost exactly the same number of registrants (2800+), 13% DNS, 6% DNF on the way to 2,343 finishers in 2012 vs 2,334.

Pre-Race Analysis
More than 2800 athletes are registered to compete in the 2013 edition of Ironman Wisconsin, with 50 Kona Slots on the line. Based on the participant bib list as of 8/17/13, here's our breakdown of participants by age group, as well as our extremely preliminary estimate of how Kona slots might be allocated. Again, very preliminary; actual slot determination is made on race weekend based on actual number of athletes who check in on site to participant in the event.
