New Ironman Races: Sweden, Mont-Tremblant and US Championship: How Do They Compare?

Three new Ironman events made their debut in mid-August, 2012: Ironman Sweden, Ironman Mont-Tremblant and Ironman US Championship in New York City.  While the standard distances were,  of course, identical, there were distinct differences between results of these races.







We've taken the analysis of each race to the age group level, comparing average swim, bike, run and finish times by age group. If you choose to compete in one of these races next year, these are the split times you might expect.

Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon Results Analysis

In the 2012 running of Ironman 70.3 Yeppoon, 613 triathletes (after 14% DNS, 2% DNF) finished the race in an overall average time of 5:23. Most notable was the average 1:56 1/2 marathon, compared to an average 2:13 that's part of an  average 6-hour finish time across all races we analyze.  And Yeppoon is easily one of the fastest Ironman 70.3 races in our Toughest/Easiest Half Ironman Rankings.
