RunTri: Ironman Augusta Georgia Results Analysis

With an average finish time of 5:43 in 2010, Ironman 70.3 Augusta Georgia ranked among the faster races in our Toughest/Easiest Half Ironman 70.3 Rankings. But the average finish time slipped to 6:01 in 2011. The main difference was a much slower run: 2:09 in 2010 vs 2:24 in 2011. And our analysis of the correlation between bike and run splits shows that a large number of finishers probably pushed too hard on the bike course, and suffered on the run as a result. But most athletes persevered to the finish, as evidenced by only a 3% DNF rate.
